Privacy notice

This notice says what we collect when you use VarshaKrishi, why, how long we keep it, who can see it, and how you stop. It is written for farmers first and for partners' procurement teams second.

Version: consent-v1-2026-10-13 · Effective: 13 Oct 2026

Who we are

VarshaKrishi Udhyog Private Limited (CIN U01113UW2026PTC250001), registered office T-03/706 Paras Seasons, Sector-168, Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar 201301, Uttar Pradesh, India, operating from Nagpur, Maharashtra. Contact: contact@varshakrishi.com, +91 86688 40167.

What we collect

When you join on WhatsApp: your WhatsApp number, the name you give, your village or district, the crop, and the location or boundary of your field.

While you use the service: your replies to weekly messages (for example 'irrigated', 'checked'), questions you send, and the satellite and weather records computed for your field.

On the website: no analytics or session recording runs today. If we turn on Microsoft Clarity later, it will run only after you agree on the page, and this notice will say so first. If you send the contact or institutions form, it reaches us through Web3Forms, a form-delivery service, with what you typed (such as your name, organisation, email or phone and message). Our website host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs. No account, no payment details, no government ID is collected on the website.

Why we collect it

To compute and send your weekly field message. To improve the advice using your replies. To report aggregate results (counts, never your name or number) to a sponsor who paid for your season. To answer your questions.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your number for anything except the service and the replies to your own messages.

Legal basis and consent

We ask for your consent in your language when you join, with the text shown at the end of this notice, and record the version you agreed to. You can withdraw it at any time by sending STOP on WhatsApp; your field stops receiving messages and your personal data is deleted within 30 days.

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies; its duties on companies begin on 13 May 2027 and this notice is written to meet them from today.

Who can see it

You. VarshaKrishi staff who run the service. An agronomist reviewing an escalated field (field data, not your number). A sponsor or programme that paid for your season sees aggregate numbers for its cohort and the fields its cohort code covers, never your phone number. Service providers that store and send data for us (cloud hosting in India or the EU, WhatsApp Business messaging through Meta, weather and satellite data providers) under contracts that forbid any other use.

We share data with a government authority only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Field records and messages: for as long as your field is registered and 3 years after, so that season reports can be checked. Your name and number: until you withdraw or 2 years after your last message, whichever is earlier.

Your rights

Ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted: send a WhatsApp message or email contact@varshakrishi.com. We reply within 7 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is constituted.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections; servers are access-controlled; derived records are hash-chained so they cannot be altered silently. See the security page for the summary.

Changes

When this notice changes we update the version and the date below and send a short WhatsApp message to registered farmers whose rights are affected.
